What Therapy can do for you…
Therapy to relieve symptoms
Now more than ever, it seems like our professional and personal pressures are at an all-time high. People will spend money on a personal trainer or a home cleaning service, however, society is finally realizing the importance of professional mental help. I assist clients who experience a myriad of symptoms, such as anxiety, depression, and relationship conflicts. It has been my joy to see my clients experience symptom relief and the satisfaction of a problem solved. Therapy is a smart choice. I look forward to partnering with you to a place of health and wholeness. Therapy can help you experience wanted change that’s sustainable.
Therapy to Improve Relationships/Couples Therapy
Sometimes we say or do things that deeply hurt the ones we love the most. When unresolved offenses pile up, it is easy to focus on the content of what has been said or done. When that happens relationships often get stuck. Strong emotions such as anger, depression, and anxiety can stymie resolution or reconciliation. Learning how to shift the dynamics in your relationship can empower you to make the changes you desire. Education and experience can help move you out of rigid roles and towards more authentic and satisfying relationships. Working with a competent therapist can provide the support needed to communicate effectively, heal from infidelity or emotional trauma.
Becuase, I am passionate about couples therapy, I completed an additional year of training with The Couples Institute. I currently participate monthly in The Couples Institute’s Advanced Training program so that I can bring the latest techniques and resources to the couples I work with. Feeling stuck and unable to move forward in a relationship is not uncommon. My clients learn to work on skills to manage strong emotions and communicate effectively while building healthy connection with themselves and each other.
Set and Reach Life Goals/Self Discovery and Improvement through therapy
Not every client comes with a particular relationship issue in mind. Some of my clients have come to therapy to “work on themselves” or to reach a personal goal. I have assisted clients who wanted to work on finding their “voice”, overcoming social phobias or improving school performance to name a few. Goal setting is important, but it can be discouraging when you don’t attain your goal or if you are surrounded by critics. My clients have been courageous to look closely at what is holding them back from their dreams and to take action. With a therapeutic approach, I am happy to help you find your momentum towards achieving your goals.
Problem Solving with a skilled therapist
When clients come to therapy with a particular problem they want to solve, therapy can often be brief and solution oriented. I provide a neutral perspective to clients’ problems and offer my skills as a systemic thinker. If you feel stuck in a situation, frustrated by a new or reoccurring relationship issue, or simply finding it difficult to chose options or to even know what you want, therapy can be a safe place to work through difficult matters with trained support. I meet regularly with colleagues for consultation so that I’m bringing my best to work for you.
